6 Kardashian Truths About Blogging

Let’s get this out of the way right off the bat. I don’t keep up with the Kardashians.

Having said that, I bet you’re wondering why in the world I would talk about the Kardashians in relation to blogging.

What does one have to do with the other?

Let’s begin.

The First Kardashian Truth About Blogging.

Who hasn’t heard about the Kardashians? I saw a recent episode of Waters’ World on the Fox News channel where Waters was talking to college students about their knowledge of American history. It was pretty dismal until he asked them about pop culture including the Kardashians. That was where they were knowledgeable.

So if your blog was a Kardashian, it would be relevant to your demographic and be entertaining. It’s not about you, it’s about your audience. Give them what they want.

How do you know what they want? Ask them. Do surveys and go where they hang out.

You’ll develop a loyal following who will quote you and know what you’re up to all the time.[mlsp-cta campaign=”ultimateblogbundle” layout=”standard” align=”right”]

The Second Kardashian Truth About Blogging.

Kim Kardashian made the headlines recently when she posted a picture of herself nude on Twitter.

If you look at the things trending on Google, she’s right up there with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in stuff being shared and talked about.

We hadn’t heard much about her for a long time so she did something to put herself back in the spotlight.

Keeping your blog in the headlines is a daunting task but it’s the only way you’ll survive in the competitive world of blogging.

Having consistency is only half the story. You also need to promote yourself. Do guest blogging and be in front of the audience.

The Third Kardashian Truth About Blogging.

In support of Kardashian’s nude Tweet, a plethora of people showed their support by also posting pictures of themselves in the buff.

Is your content something that is going to go viral? Are people going to want to be like you?

Think about what would set your posts out from the pack and make it so entertaining or so compelling that people will want to emulate it and share it.  [mlsp-cta campaign=”mysocialmediasecret” layout=”standard” align=”left”]

The Fourth Kardashian Truth About Blogging.

The Kardashians business, the thing that makes them money isn’t what they Tweet or what they say.

The Kardashians are worth a reported $80 billion. That’s not some chump change. How did they get it?

They started out with a measly $100 million left when Daddy Kardashian died.

Through some ingenuity and a TV reality show, they’ve made that worth a whole lot more.

Getting Tweeted about and having followers is only the way they promote their real business.

Your blog isn’t your business. It’s a way you promote your business.

So you don’t promote your blog for your blog’s sake, you promote your blog because it brings attention to your real business.

The Fifth Kardashian Truth About Blogging.

Sources say that the Kardashians make about $10 million per episode from their reality TV show.

Well, they’ve been going since 2007.

They are consistently producing episodes that make them money.

Followers know what time the episodes will air and faithfully await the next showing.

Consistency produces results. Your consistency in blogging will create a faithful following that wait for your next episode.[mlsp-cta campaign=”getmobileleadsnow” layout=”standard” align=”left”]

The Sixth Kardashian Truth About Blogging.

Try doing a web search about Kardashian merchandise. You’ll see that there is a clothing line, makeup, perfumes, shoes and all kinds of Kardashian theme merchandise.

I’d be willing to bet that they make more money off their merchandise than they do from their TV show.

A blog makes money from sales. Your faithful followers will buy your stuff.

It’s not just about getting a list and pitching stuff to sell to your list. Your list equals followers who want to be like you, wear clothes like you, go places you go, etc.

They are real people who have chosen you as their go-to person in their niche.

So there you have it, the 6 Kardashian Truths about blogging.

So tell me the naked truth about this blog post.

Bare your soul and tell me if you can think of other Kardashian truths.

    Great post, Anita!
You make some great points. Whether one keeps up with the Kardashians or not, they use some great business principles that can be applied to other types of businesses.
    Great comparisons!
